The waters of Cancun and Cozumel in Mexico in particular are host to them, because their waters are so warm and protected. You can look it up yourself for all the details, but briefly "sea lice" are the microscopic larvae of stinging sea creatures, primarily jelly fish. This is not a problem that the hotel has any control over, but if they shared some knowledge and tips on this subject, it could save guests a lot of suffering.
